Signs and Symptoms of Menopause Perimenopause

As a woman enters her forties, she may experience s several changes with her physical and emotional aspects. This is because of the changes in hormone levels typical of the perimenopausal period and leads to the manifestation of what are night sweats and hot flashes.

These are but few of the symptoms of menopause perimenopause which can manifest to a severe or intense degree when no action is taken to restore hormonal balance and provide ways on how to cure night sweats and hot flashes.

Mood swings are typical in cases where fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone are evident. This is because of the strong influence that these hormones have on the mood centers of the brain. As such women in menopause may find themselves feeling irritable or aggressive, depressed or anxious or in an emotional roller coaster once the hormonal fluctuations kick in.

Menstrual irregularities are to be expected. This reproductive process is regulated primarily by the two hormones and any imbalances on the levels of such can lead to women skipping a few cycles or having very short intervals in between. Quality and quantity of the flow may deviate from what the usual is making it extremely important for women to monitor menstrual cycles in these ages.

Other symptoms of menopause perimenopause include hot flashes and night sweats. Hot flashes are an erratic reaction from the thermoregulatory centers of the brain wherein decreased estrogen levels trigger hypothalamic reactions to increase skin surface temperatures. This symptom can come unexpectedly and can become quite intense depending on the degree of hormonal imbalance. When these occur at night, hot flashes are almost always accompanied by night sweats or heavy perspiration adding to the level of discomfort.

Weight gain is also a common scenario since estrogen also plays a role in metabolic processes. With decreased levels, conversion and metabolism is slowed down. Women may notice that they have gained weight despite having no significant changes in diet and exercise levels.
